Beautiful 18km Holla Trail run this morning!

Saturday 3rd November 2012 - 18km Blue Holla Trail Run
PYTHON BUSH..thats comforting ;)
I absolutely love running at Holla Trails! So I wake up with ease when my alarm clock goes off at 4am, enjoy my cuppa coffee and slice of peanut butter toast, pack my running pack, which includes a 2litre water bladder & bananas for a snack along the way & my packet to leave in the car with slipslops for afterwards and most important my Super M chocolate milk as my post run recovery drink & am off so excited to hit the trail! We set off at 5am, there was a chill & freshness in the air, we started with a monster climb & then turned in to go through the sugar cane fields, along the river and even through Python Bush! We were out for 2h40minutes and I loved every minute, soaking up the beauty and wonder of nature, even the slipping and sliding through the mud! As usual the birdlife is abundant, we saw pin tailed whydahs, fan tailed widow birds,  African fire finches, hadeda's, starlings, swallows, weavers, yellow billed kites to name the few that I could identify! We saw lots of animal spore too, which looked like duiker, genets, and again lots that I didn't know what they were! Then we came across a bunch of naughty vervet monkeys swinging & jumping from tree to tree! What a magic run! Thank you Harry and Sarah for a beautiful morning out & the great company!
